Two years ago, we set-up an initiative where students are rewarded for attending extra-curricular activities for Sounds, Drama and Art under the Creative Arts umbrella. Many of our students have earnt Bronze, Silver and Yellow Arts status through their time at Baddow until collecting stamps every clock they attend a club. Everyone stamp represents roughly one-hour of activity into the Arts beyond the schulklasse and which cards continue for the student each academic year. On Thursday 9th May, Year 5s from Baddow Hall, Barnes Farm, Beehive, Larkrise, Mildmay and St Andrews schools got until GBHS for our annual spelling competition: Spellcasters. Some of our study librarians helped by markdown, scoring, serving refreshments and helping them feel welcome. British Science week has been celebrated at GBHS in many ways this week. The science department have been continually linking the theme of ‘Time’ into lessons and topics transverse all year groups. In amendment, there have been after-school activities taking place which are engaged and intrigued our students. The STEM club have been completing their propeller automobiles and were hoping to press an drag race with them this week, but it has been postponed to allow further build time. Switch Friday 8th March, four crews travelled to Stoke up Trent to get in the Milano Gymnastics Schools National Finals. We had four collaboration participating, U13 Mixed, U16 Combined, U19 Mixed also U19 Girls. On Sunday Great Baddow High School competed in the Regional Around of the Floor also Depository Gymnastics Competition.
