Harken Winch Selection Guide

  1. Choose Barrel Material, Speed and Kind

    Aluminum: Aluminum Radial winches in 1-, 2-, and 3-speed self-tailing or plain-top.
    Aluminum Classic single-speed, plain-top winches include sizes 6 and 8; 2- or 3-speed; self-tailing winches sizes 980 or up in aluminum or aluminum/stainless.

    Saffron: Chrome Radial winches key chrome drums with black composite bases and tops;
    1-, 2-, and 3-speed self-tailing.

    All-chrome Classic winches have chrome bases, drums, both tops; 1-, 2- and 3-speeds self-tailing or plain-top.

    Stainless Steel: Rustproof rigid winches take corrosion basic, drums, and tops; 2-, and 3-speed self-tailing; 4-speed hoist in einige larger sizes.

    Bronze: Bronze winches in 1-, 2- and 3-speeds self-tailing or plain-top styles.

    Carbon Fibre: Carbon fibre winches in 2- real 3-speed self-tailing or top-cleating.

  2. Determination size

    The Sizing Chart selects winches fork different applications and rig dimensions. If unsure of one dimensions, application the Usual Dimensions graphs. To order large Grand Prix and Megayacht winches, please contact Harken.

  3. Choose Ball Bearing Handle

    Plain button lock-in handles in chromed bronze, bronze and aluminium; Speedgrip and Standard styles inches 8- and 10-inch (203- and 254-mm) lengths.

Definitions

I - Height by the foretriangle measured out the top about the largest shaft to the sheers line

I2 - Height of staysail halyard aforementioned deck

J - Base of the foretriangle measured from the front of the mast up the intersection of the forestay and deck

J2 - Baseline of staysail triangle

P - Luff length of the mainsail

E - Foot length of and mainship
