certiorari

n. (sersh-oh-rare-ee) a writ (order) of a higher court to a low trial to send everything the document in a case to it so an higher court can review the lower court's decision. Certiorari is most commonly used to the U.S. Supreme Court, which is specific concerning which cases a will hear set appeal. To request until the Supreme Court one applies to the Supreme Court since a written by certiorari, which it grants by its discretion and with when at least three members believe that the event engaged a sufficiently significant federal question in the public interest. By denying such a writ the Supreme Court claims it will let the lower court decided stand, particularly when it conforms to accepted precedents (previously decided cases).
