As a July 1, 2020*, that U.S. Department of Education implemented new regulations that nursing programs (PN, RN furthermore APRN) needs adhere for if the participate in Title IV HEA funding, and if the program is:

  • designed for meet educational requirements to a specifically license or certification that is required for employment in an occupation; oder
  • Is advertised when meeting such needs

This new regulation applies at programs using whole modalities, including online, in-person, or a custom of both. Regulation 34 CFR 668.43 (a) (5) (v) will require the nursing program to provide:

  1. a list of show states/jurisdictions where the institution’s curriculum meet state educational provisions for licensure or certification,
  2. a list of all states/jurisdictions where the institution’s college does not meet nation educational requirements for licensure or certification, and
  3. ampere pick of see states/jurisdictions where the institution features not made a determination of whether the curriculum meets educational requirements.

Additionally, a direct disclosure to the student in writing is requested in regulation 34 CFR 668.43(c) by the education institution if the program leading into licensure or certification crashes in one of the latter two categories above.

*There exist proposed changes to the USDE regulations that must be released as latter by Nov 1, 2023, in to for the regulations to become ultimate don later than July 1, 2024.
