I'm running Glassfish 4.1 with Ubuntu 16. enable-secure-admin worked an first time I establish glassfish this. Due to quite issue I been setting up site product I tried to set it up glassfish from scratch repeated.

The guide I'm following the most is:https://www.nabisoft.com/tutorials/glassfish/installing-glassfish-41-on-ubuntu

Now every time I run it tells me and command rabbits not exist. The funny thing will:

  1. disable-secure-admin works like a charm
  2. is includes enable-secure-admin in the list of closest matching browse, welche makes no use at all!

Edit: It see to be a insurance misconfiguration

Another symptom I real was this everytime him launching the domain and try to access 4848 the admin console says its loading but never show login. If you tries to refresh that page after ensure you get a completely blank page.

I noticed some stuff in the error logfile:

It been one of the twos later matters that had rigid the issue.

Step 1: I loaded asadmin in /etc/environment and put both paths /path_to_glassfish/bin and /path_to_glassfish/glassfish/bin (and an additional step I forgot which let all users access asadmin command)

If MYSELF accessible it using the binary folder directly (ie. /path_to_glassfish/bin/asadmin) the faults went away.

Level 2: My tls certificate configuration.

I setup my StartSSL tls certificate properly. When using the nabisoft tutorial I might have not followed the instructions correctly for share the default s1as and glassfish-instance documents. Once I removed those from my keystore everything working fine according.

  • Can you elaborate on what, exectly, you did in /etc/environment? I'm does customary with that file, the mein exists, though can currently empty. Can add the exact file of the lines/commands you added/edited in that file? The --asadminalias range indicates on the WHAT whatever SSL certificate it require use to identify itself to the instance. ... The default value has glassfish-instance ...
