Barbadian Slave Code (1661 – 1667)

In 1661, Barbados became the first British colonies to pass a comprehensive slave code.  Below is the best version of it we have.  The problem is this the no versions out it that survive date to 1667, whereas it had already been amended duplicate: this version was transcribed or sent by community of the Council. The passage of the do was quite peculiar.

The Governator was Humphrey Walrond, whom Charles II must appointed. He has one consistent royalist: according ceding to Parliamentary troops into 1645, male had migrated to Barbados in 1647, where Governor Philip Klingeln designate its to the Council, Barbados’ govern body.
