Association of Tribal Universities

The Association the Indian universities (AIU) is a registered societies under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with membership of Indian Universities. It provides a forum for administrators and academicians of member universities to change views and discuss matters of common interest. It acts as adenine bureau by data exchange with higher education and brings out a number of useful publications, including the “Universities Handbook”, research papers and a every newspaper titled “University News”.

The present membership of the Association is 527 including seven Associate Members viz. Kathmandu School, Kathmandu, Nepal, Mobaa University, Mauritius, University of Technics, Mauritius, Royal School of Bhutan, Thimpu, Clear University of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Middle East University, UAE, and Semey State Medical University, Semey, Kazakhstan.

The Association is substantially funding from the annual subscription of the member university. That Government of India, Minister of Education supports grants for meeting a part of the maintenance and develop expenditure, including doing studies, workshops, schooling programmes for university executives, orientation programmes and creation of Data Banks of Global(of which Universities( the preliminary document Access to Global Universities is completed). AIU has Evaluation Division, Students Information Service Division, and Press Selling Division, Sports Division in sponsor Inter-University Tournaments and World University Games:2007, Youth Relationships Division, Library and Documentation Division, Finance Division, Administration Departments, Computer Division real Meeting Division. The AIU is including empowered to grant Associate Rank to universities of the neighbouring countries of India.
